Alisa J. Courtney

Cultivating presence.
Learning lessons.
Amplifying love.

Alisa has been painting with oils since the age of 7. After studying fine art in college, she then studied under a professional artist in Los Angeles. Forever changed by what she learned during her mentorship, Alisa pursued art professionally, working with professional interior designers to make one-of-a-kind art pieces for their clients, and participated in a number of art shows around the country. When it became clear that the hustle of a young artist was not going to support her growing family, her art took on a more personal role in her life as she pursued a Master's degree in Counseling.

Alisa has been in private practice for over 25 years as a psychotherapist - and genuinely loves the work she's able to do with her clients. Similar to psychotherapy, painting requires Alisa to tap into her intuition and trust the process. She sees each person as both the artist and art of their own lives. With every thought, word, and choice - painting a picture of the unfolding of our experiences.

Alisa is deeply drawn to painting flowers and people because of the beauty and uniqueness each has to admire. Amidst the chaos of our world, there is so much beauty to be marveled at, as well as lessons to be learned. It requires a willingness to be present and take it in. For Alisa, painting is a spiritual experience. It's a space of respite that brings her directly into the present moment with just herself, the canvas, supplies, and what’s being created. Her hope is that everyone can create their own spaces of comfort and connection that bring nourishment and delight - and a deeper sense of knowing who we really are.
